Nestled in the breathtaking Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, Hypha is a specialized international school that sees the outdoors as a natural extension of the classroom. While our Reggio-inspired indoor spaces are thoughtfully designed, the heart of our learning happens under open skies, fostering a deep connection to the natural world.
We believe in nurturing the whole child, mind, body, and heart. We challenge the misconception that a nature-immersed approach to education and academic rigor are at odds. At Hypha, they work together to develop learners who are both grounded and intellectually capable.
We follow an innovative, Cambridge-accredited curriculum that prioritizes literacy and numeracy. Through approaches such as Singapore Mathematics, hands-on science, and Socratic Seminars, students develop strong critical thinking and a deep understanding of what they learn.

We bring in best practices from Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Forest School to promote a holistic development. We have beautifully designed environments and highly trained, loving educators, to provide an engaging and playful start to education. While the program is delivered in English, children are immersed in the Portuguese language during part of each day, and during Portuguese classes..

NATURE IMMERSION
Our students spend, on average, 3 hours a day exploring, learning, and connecting with the wonders of nature. Many researchers agree that children who spend time outdoors are happier, better at paying attention and less anxious than kids who spend more time indoors. By deepening their understanding and appreciation of the natural world, these children often also develop a profound sense of environmental responsibility and stewardship.
